Geographical Location

Situated in the south west corner of Spain, Huelva forms part of the region of Andalusia which finds itself bounded to the north by the province of Badajoz, to the south by the Atlantic Ocean, to the east by Seville and to the west by Portugal.

It can lay claim to more the 300 days of sunshine per year, making it one of the most temperate climates out of all the Spanish provinces and one that receives the most hours of sunshine, more than 3000 hours.



Getting here

By Road:

Via the A-49 from Seville which connects Huelva to Seville. From Extremadura in the north, via the N435 and from the west from Portugal. From Madrid, either travelling along the national V to Mérida and linking to the N435 or continuing to Seville and from the taking the A-49.

By Train:

From the main station in Huelva there are two options:

The Canoe:
During summer a charming and characteristic canoe service, held in great esteem by the people of Huelva, which communicates the capital with Punta Umbría. They are a reminded of Huelva's charm during the 1950s, seafaring and tranquil, close to the beach situated in the Punta del Sebo.

Getting around the city

There are a variety of travel options within Huelva available to the visitor, vehicle hire (particularly if one intends to explore the province) or taking a bus from the Damas bus station.

The city has 9 interurban bus routes criss-crossing it. We should also point out that there is a bicycle lane that runs from Huelva capital to the beach in the area of Punta Umbría, known as La Bota. There are an additional 11km of cycle lane which connectt the "El Carmen" campus of the University of Huelva with the cycle lane at Puente Sifón "Santa Eulalia". At the same time this links to the Isla Chica and to the main cycle network along the Avenida Andalusia.
